FAQ

T4C.exe was unexpectedly deleted? Windows Defender detects the game as malware?

Solution:
Go to Windows Defender (Windows Security) and add an exclusion (using the button: “+ Add an exclusion”). You will then see a drop-down menu with the options “File” or “Folder.”

Select “Folder” and add the game’s installation directory, which by default is: C:/Program Files (x86)/The4thComing Windows Defender will no longer consider this folder in its scans.

IMPORTANT: You must also go to “Protection History” in Windows Defender and click on the action that quarantined T4C, then restore and allow T4C. This action will restore your T4C.exe file if it was deleted because it was detected as malware.

Your accounts are erased each time you launch the launcher without explanation? Your macros or options are not saving correctly?

Solution:
The save folder, located at %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Dialsoft (also accessible via the “Show Folder Containing Game Data” button on the launcher just to the right of the settings button), is in read-only mode, preventing writing to the save files and thus blocking the proper functioning of the game.

To fix this issue, simply uncheck the read-only option on the Dialsoft folder (accessible by right-clicking the folder and choosing “Properties,” or using the shortcut “Alt + Enter” with the folder selected). Be sure to do it 'recursively' to affect all files in all subfolders by selecting the option “Apply changes to this folder, subfolders, and files.”

The game still doesn’t work after these steps?

Solution:

  1. Perform a “File Check” from the T4C Launcher
  2. If it still doesn’t work: uninstall the game, delete any remaining files in the installation directory, restart your PC, and then reinstall the game
  3. Download link (choose one):
    1. Steam Version: Download T4C on Steam
    2. Web Version: Download T4C

Only do this as a last resort:

  1. Backup the “Dialsoft” save folder somewhere (located at: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Dialsoft)
  2. Then delete the original “Dialsoft” folder (located at: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Dialsoft)
    1. NOTE: This will delete your accounts, macros, CC, in-game map reveal, etc.
  3. Restart the game, and your issues should now be resolved.
