The Secrets of the Lost Portal

A scholar, Salmor, has discovered that an ancient sealed portal can be reactivated. This portal leads to a forgotten island. The player must find three Portal Shards scattered in dangerous places, collect them, and activate the portal in a forgotten sanctuary.

NPC: Salmor the Scribe
Location: Near Shovanis, in the basement of Lighthaven.

Initial Dialogue:

• Salmor: “Adventurer! Come closer. Have you heard of the Lost Portal, an ancient relic that connects our world to a forgotten island?”
• Keyword: “portal”
  

  * **Salmor explains:** "The Lost Portal has been sealed for centuries. To activate it, you need to find its three magical Shards. They are scattered in dangerous places and guarded by formidable guardians."

  * Player asks: “Where can I find these Shards?”

  • Salmor replies: “Ah, listen carefully! I will guide you:
    

      - **The first Shard, the Shard of the Portal (Shadow),** is located to the east of the island, in the Forest of No Return on Raven's Dust. It is protected by shadow wolves.  
      - **The second Shard, the Shard of the Portal (Bones),** is hidden in the Minotaur Labyrinth. You will need to defeat skeletons to retrieve it.  
      - **The final Shard, the Shard of the Portal (Stone),** is guarded by a powerful stone elemental in the basement of Mordenthal in Stoneheim."

Player's Choice:

• Option 1: “Yes, I will help you.”
  • Salmor: “Perfect! Find these three Shards and come back to me.”
• Option 2: “No, I'm busy.”
  • Salmor: “I understand. If you change your mind, come back to me. Such a discovery is too important to be ignored.”

Objective: Accept the quest and receive detailed instructions to locate the 3 Portal Shards.

Location: Near the Orkanis Castle, Arakas.
Description: The shard is guarded by a group of shadow wolves (3 to 5 enemies).
Objective:

• Defeat the wolves and collect the Shard of the Portal (Shadow).
• Message after collection: “You have retrieved the Shard of the Portal. An odd energy emanates from it.”

Location: Minotaur Labyrinth.
Description: The shard is held by skeleton soldiers (4 to 6 enemies).

• Each monster has a 2% chance to drop the Shard of the Portal (Bones).

Objective:

• Defeat the skeletons and obtain the shard by looting the monsters.
• Message after collection: “You have retrieved the Shard of the Portal. It seems charged with ancient power.”

Location: The basement of Mordenthal (SH).
Description: The shard is guarded by a stone elemental, a powerful boss located at the center of the map.
Objective:

• Defeat the elemental and retrieve the Shard of the Portal (Stone).
• Message after collection: “You have retrieved the Shard of the Portal. It faintly glimmers but feels heavy.”

Return to Salmor the Scribe with the three shards.
Location: Near Shovanis, basement of Lighthaven.
Dialogue:

• Keyword: “shards”
  • Salmor says: “Incredible! You've managed to find the Portal Shards. With these pieces, I can reassemble the artifact. Now, it's time to activate the portal!”

Message:

• “The portal radiates with intense energy. A shimmering passage appears before you. The path to the unknown is now open.”

Double-click the Tome in your inventory.

To return to the island of Harmonia later, you can always come back and see Salmor the Scribe.
