This is a timed quest, don’t dawdle on the way!

Say register, then yes, then letter to receive a letter to be delivered to one of the merchants in Lighthaven.
Go see Rolph (the armor merchant in Lighthaven) or Sigfried (the weapon merchant) and tell them letter.

Next, head to the Thieves' City, which you can access through the Thieves' Cave (or Bandits' Cave depending on the maps) south of Arakas, to deliver the letter to Assar using the word report.
Then, immediately return the report to Lord Sunrock, the mayor of Windhowl.
You will receive the reward, and this marks the end of the timer.
Your character must now gain 2 levels.
Important: Do not do the diamond quest!
Return to Lord Sunrock, who will accuse you of embezzlement.
Go back to Assar, who will ask you if you want to back out.
Reply with no.
He will send you to see Le Fouineur in Windhowl (1715, 1175, 0), where you will say shadow market.
He will then send you to see Ttyah Mark, located in the house just to his right.
Visit him during the night and say black market. From now on, by saying black market, you will have access to it at night.

Next, visit Jagar Kar, the trainer of the powerful strike in Lighthaven, and tell him fury sword.
Now, go kill some Goblin Generals* until you find a Fury Sword.
(Some spots to the north for lower levels (2400,745,0) with no monsters and spawn of 1 to 4 Goblin Generals. More spawns near Jarko.)
Report it to Jagar Kar and tell him fury sword. He will then give you the Sword of Night.
Kill Jarko (be careful, he's tough and protected by a demon, so go in groups and don't attack the demon, just run!), and pick up the Spellbook.
Bring it to the necromancer in Lighthaven, Araknor, and tell him spellbook. If Araknor tells you that he is already studying Jarko's spellbook and that yours must be a fake, wait, and try again to give it to him. The wait time can vary from 1 to 2 hours.
This quest is repeatable. You can do it until you get the Ring of Darkness.
Gains:
